Deciding on the right running shoes

Deciding on what running shoes to buy can be overwhelming. Here are some guidelines:

Road running:

Make sure you have space in front of your toes to allow your foot to slide in order to prevent blisters. A general rule of thumb is to have about a thumb width (excuse the pun) of space between the front of the shoe and your longest toe.

Make sure the back of the shoe is comfortable on your Achilles tendon. This will help you to avoid any friction injuries at the back of your ankle.

Ensure that the toe box of the shoe is wide enough to allow your toes to sit comfortably to avoid discomfort on your long runs.

Trail running:

Ensure your shoe can give you enough support. Your should not be able to twist your shoe with your hands very easily
